Wheeler Historic Farm is a great park with lots of trails for walking/jogging, as well as animals for the little kids. Best of all, you can get food for the animals at the farm, or bring a loaf of bread with you! It's a great look into the rural life in Salt Lake around the turn of the century, with house tours and wagon rides. It also has milking tours to give city kids a taste of the farm life.

Instead of going to the zoo again go see a real working farm and get up close and personal with the animals. Its your chance to feed the chickens, milk a cow, pet a horse, etc. They have hay rides and tours of the farms historic home. Its a great way to convey to the kids what it was like for their ancestors to grow up on a farm. Check for activities in the barn and special features around the holidays. They even have a fishing pond that the kids can fish from. Its a fun family activity and a good education in the good ol days.

This is a historic farm from the late 1800's or early 1900's. It has been preserved with all of the land around it. It is fun to take the kids to to learn about farms and animals. You can also take a hay ride or a tour of the historic farm house. There is a big barn here that sometimes has activities. You can also have your childs birthday party here. It is a fun place.
